Ep. 1 - Hunger Awareness

This series was designed specifically for the web, with social media and FACC's website in mind. We referenced several YouTube micro Documentary series when developing this specific series's style and tone.

The Destination

This episode was filmed in one day. One subject interview and one supporting footage were shot at the exact location and on the same day.

Certain shots captured in this first video became some of the main theme scenes for the remainder of the series. Overall, we wanted to provide a concise and informative story about the area of service FACC provides. As Stephenson County's most enormous food pantry, It only made sense to start the series here.

Ep. 2 - Homeless Awareness

This episode was launched online for Homeless Awareness Month to bring more donations to the shelter. It then accompanied the first episode on FACC's website and Facebook Page.

The Destination

For the subject matter of this episode, it was clear right from the start that we needed to shift the tone to moody and darker images to reflect better the severe nature of homelessness and the battle the unhoused face day to day. As we meet another member of FACC, Scott Lewis, we look at what the not-for-profit does as a shelter and why they feel it's so important.

On top of being the third episode in the series, this video was shown at FACC's annual fundraising luncheon as a recap video and a donation drive for the event.

The Destination

As a not-for-profit, FACC deals with a limited budget like most not-for-profits. We could complete this series for an attainable rate by repurposing footage and combining client media (in this case, photos) with basic animations to create a whole new video straight from the editing chair!

Ep. 4 - Series Finale

Screen Grab #10 of FACC Micro Doc Series

After a healthy run as a social media campaign, the series remained on FAAC's website until the site was revised recently after a change in staff.

The Destination

As mentioned above, the total production budget for FACC  was limited. So, to complete the series, we relied on our two previous shoots to complete the series with, of course, some clever post-production tricks and introductory graphic text. In the end, we finished the series strong with a powerful message and consistent themes that left the viewers with a much deeper understanding of this not-for-profit than they had prior.
